Careers

There has never been a more exciting time to build.

Horizontal is building the operating system for factories run by AI agents and people. We build in San Francisco and Munich, we move fast, and we aim for nothing less than the execution layer of global manufacturing.

Why we build
01 Manufacturing builds the world. Every car, every medicine, every chip comes out of a factory. Yet the work that runs those factories still moves through spreadsheets, phone calls and handovers.
02 For the first time, software can run the plant. AI can now understand how a factory works and act inside it. The execution layer of manufacturing is being written right now.
03 We intend to write it. Whoever builds that layer builds one of the defining companies of this decade. That is the company we are building, and we are building it fast.
Who we look for

We hire for drive. Everything else can be learned.

Drive

You push the work forward every day, whatever the conditions. Momentum is your default.

Ambition

You want to build something that matters on a global scale, and you measure yourself against the best in the world.

Agency

You see a problem and own it, from the first idea to a system running in a customer's plant. Nobody has to ask twice.

Willingness to change

Plans change fast here. You bend, learn and change direction without losing speed.

How we work

Fast, ambitious and all in.

San Francisco and Munich

We build where manufacturing and AI meet: in Munich, close to the plants of Europe, and in San Francisco, at the center of AI and the gateway to the largest market for what we do.

Horizontal in every sense

Engineers talk to customers. Go-to-market understands the product. Everyone ships, everyone sells the vision, everyone builds.

Speed is a feature

We ship every week, test in real plants and make decisions in hours. The pace is high because the opportunity is.
